Those of us tracking the Gannon/Guckert story have heard it said again and again - White House day passes aren't hard to get and we shouldn't read anything into Gannon/Guckert getting one every day for a couple of years.
Well, Media Bistro has decided to put that to the test. MediaBistro is a company that targets professionals in the content creatiojn industry (i.e media) with news, services, social networking, etc. They have gossip blogs in DC, NY, and LA. The DC group, Fish Bowl DC, decided to go for the press pass. They were told by journalists who attend the White House briefings that they should qualify, since MediaBistro is "is (a) independent and nonpartisan, (b) regularly published, and (c) primarily supported by subscribers or advertising."
No such luck. They didn't get the day pass but plan to try again (and again I suspect). You'll find all the details of their first efforts here. Bookmark the site so you won't miss what happens when they try, try again.
