Reasons to Like Trial Lawyers

Sometimes, you read an article and you think, "They should sue". That's exactly what just happened to me.

Lawrence Lessig blogged an open letter to Bill O'Reilly, begging him to stop abusing a Jeremy Glick, a private citizen who lost his father on 9/11 and signed an ad criticizing the war in Iraq. Lessig lists the liberties O'Reilly has taken with the truth since Glick appeared on the O'Reilly Factor. It's dismaying. Read it.

O'Reilly is often criticized for attacking those that disagree with him. This example makes the case in the worst of ways. I don't begrudge O'Reilly his soap box and any pundits or politicians are fair game. But he's stepping outside the boundaries of fair play. If he doesn't pull back, it might be time for a little legal action.
